Even though the temperature has dropped slightly and the days become shorter, Cornwall is still filled with plenty to do – from exhibitions at art galleries to beer festivals and foodie fairs.
7th September - 30th November: Film for Friday, Tate St Ives - All exhibition visitors are welcome to take a seat and enjoy a selection of documentary and artists’ film based on the surrounding exhibitions.
15th September - 17th November: Borlase Smart, A Passion for the Sea - Penlee House Gallery & Museum - magnificent marine paintings and seascapes depicting the turbulent seas of the West Cornwall coast alongside a selection of work by his students and associates.
21st - 23rd September: Big Cornish Market – Truro Farmer’s Market - Over 40 stalls of Cornish craft and produce, street food and live entertainment.
3rd - 4th October: Ocean Film Festival World Tour - Redruth Regal Cinema - Enjoy films starring seafaring adventurers as they surf the world’s biggest waves, row treacherous oceans and venture to spectacular and barely explored depths of the planet
4th - 6th October: Falmouth Beer Festival - Events Square - Cornwall's largest beer festival, with three days of great ales and good company in vibrant Falmouth.
11th - 14th October: Falmouth Oyster Festival - Events Square - Almost as unique as the fishing tradition it celebrates, the festival embraces wonderful community spirit and receives generous backing from a variety of Cornwall’s businesses and individuals.
19th October: Reporting Space: The Excitement & The Reality - Cornwall Air Ambulance HQ - A special lecture led by David Shukman, BBC Science editor. A one off opportunity to hear a unique insight into the relities of reporting on Space - in aid of Cornwall Air Ambulance.
20th October - 6th January: Nashashibi / Skaer - Tate St Ives - Travel to Gauguin's Tahiti and beyond through the work of two British artists. This exhibition combines films made by Rosalind Nashashibi and Lucy Skaer with their own curated selection of artworks that reflect and add new meaning to their work.
20th - 21st October: At the End of the Land Walking Fest - St Just - The first annual walking weekend for the Penwith Landscape Partnership, consisting of three guided walks in and around the west Cornwall countryside.
