Autumn Stays in Cornwall

September is the time to relax and enjoy a quieter Cornwall

Underneath a blanket of stars

Whether you simply drive to locations such as Cape Cornwall, walk along the coast to the North Cliffs, or simply sit out on the balcony of a Blissful Bay room overlooking St Michael's Mount - on a cloudless night, you will experience quite the light show.

If photography takes your fancy capture the stunning night sky on a workshop with local photographer, Carla Regler.

The bounty of land and sea

Cornwall is a foodies heaven, from fresh fish, landed daily, to the traditional Cornish Pasty.

Newquay Fish Festival - What could be better than enjoying some of Cornwall's freshest seafood than right by the water's edge. Located in and around the working harbour of Newquay, the festival celebrates the heritage and cuisine that comes from the sea. Why not check out the chef demos, sing along with the sea shanties and, of course, try the wonderful food on offer.

Redruth International Pasty & Mining Festival - Celebrating the mining heritage of Redruth and the iconic Cornish pasty, With a host of activities, including pasty making workshops and steam rides, a pasty scoffing competition, food, drink and craft stalls, as well as a fire performance - there will be plenty to keep you entertained.

The Little Orchard Cider & Music Festival -  Head to Healey's Cyder for a weekend of all things apple.  You'll have live music, silent discos, secret cider walks, the Rattler Olympics, and cider to sample from across the country to look forward to.  A cider connoisseurs dream!

Truro Food Festival - Showcasing the best of Cornish food an drink. Head to the Cornish Food Hall and pick up a delicious selection of food, get top tips from some of Cornwall's favourite chefs at the Chef's Theatre, follow the city-wide food trail and get dancing to music throughout the day.

Walk the colourful coast path

As we say farewell to summer we welcome the autumn colours that appear in the countryside and on the coast. Being located right on the South West Coast Path means that there are plenty of places to explore within miles of the Mount Haven. We would highly recommend heading east to Porthleven or west to Mousehole.

Sunsets by the sea

Fiery colours set the sky alight in September as the sun sets, making the coast the perfect spot to see the sun dip below the horizon. As well as the obvious choice of Mount's Bay, perhaps from the Terrace Bar, there are plenty of spots we would recommend. Head to Land's End or Godrevy - we promise you won't be disappointed.

Creative Cornwall

FestWestPZ - Brand new for 2019, Penzance will be hosting Fest West PZ, Music Making Waves. With venues across the town hosting events, with a line-up of international stars, including musicians from IMS Prussia Cove, and masterclasses it is sure to become a popular annual event.

St Ives September Festival - Spread across two weeks and 300 events there will be something for everyone - whether you wish to listen to poetry readings by local poets, join a Sea and Rocks workshop or visit an artist's open studio - this festival has it all.
