Local Producer - Gear Farm

Well and truly on the gastronomical map, Cornwall has earned itself a well-deserved reputation amongst food-lovers across the globe.

Producing wave after wave of extraordinary culinary talent and attracting celebrated chefs from all over the country, our beautiful county boasts an enviable standing.

But what makes Cornwall’s link with food so special? A bountiful natural larder, foodies in Cornwall are spoilt by the vast area of local goods on offer, from garden to land to sea. Thanks to the expert hands of farmers, growers, fishermen, producers and more, we are afforded a wealth of world-class produce and ingredients literally at our fingertips.

Appreciating this wonderful natural connection and seeking to move forward into an ever-more sustainable future, those who love food in Cornwall understand the importance of staying local and both utilising and preserving our superb natural resources. One such man who champions this cause is David Webb.

Establishing the Gear Farm Pasty Company in 1999, David Webb has an unbridled passion for food and providing top-quality products using ingredients grown and produced on his farm. As well as making dribble-worthy pasties using traditional Cornish methods, David’s farm in St Martin near Helston also grows mouth-watering certified organic vegetables and flowers too.

As local and fresh as it gets, Gear Farm's produce attracted the attention of our very own Head Chef Ross Sloan, who along with his talented kitchen team, serves up tantalising modern British cuisine in our in-house restaurant, the Terrace Bar. Working in partnership with David, Ross’ menu is adapted each day with fresh deliveries of the finest seasonal veg.

Creating dishes inspired by nature, the Terrace Bar is at the beating heart of Mount Haven and we pride ourselves on delivering the highest standards and service. Offering a refined yet relaxed dining experience, you can peruse our bespoke menu for delicious treats whilst soaking in the awe-inspiring views of Mounts Bay.

The Terrace Restaurant is open from breakfast ‘til sundown, perfect for sipping morning coffees or savouring cocktails as the sun goes down. In the summer months, drinks are best enjoyed under the glimmering rays of the sun on the outdoor terrace, while in winter you can’t beat cuddling up next to the roaring wood burner.
