My West Cornwall - Brenna Nevitt, Reservations Team
West Cornwall, and beyond, has plenty to offer - and our team can point you in the right direction with their top spots!
Brenna, Hayle local and part of our Reservations Team, has chosen her top ten recommendations in West Cornwall - from the Eden Sessions to the Rum & Crab Shack
Favourite beach: Gwithian, as it is the beach my parents used to take me to for bbq’s and surfing as a kid- it’s part of the ‘3 miles of Golden Sand’ stretch from Hayle to Godrevy – just beautiful!
Favourite activity: Eating at new restaurants, Asian fusion is my favourite!
Favourite walk: St Ives to Zennor walk as it has really awesome scenery from dramatic cliffs to cute little coves.
Favourite garden: A little further afield, but it's got to be the Lost Gardens of Heligan - pretty magical
Favourite gallery: The Tate in St Ives, I am into Modern British Artwork
Favourite event: The summer Eden Sessions, always endeavour to get to at least one each year. A pretty special place to watch some big-name acts!
Favourite sunset & storm watching spot: Godrevy National Trust car park, take a blanket and some fish and chips and a couple of coronas too for a lovely evening till late in the summer.
Favourite place for a pint / cocktail / glass of wine: I would say the Rum and Crab Shack in St Ives, their Happy Hour 2-4-1 cocktails are the best.
Favourite pub: The Red River Inn, Gwithian. A real locals watering hole. Re-opening next month!
Favourite restaurant: The Thai Chef in Hayle, real authentic dishes and the décor is just so old school- no frills, it is what it is!. And BYOB!
