My West Cornwall - Sham Mulji, Deputy General Manager
West Cornwall is full of wonderful places, from restaurants to beaches - so we thought we would share our teams most loved spots!
Moving to Cornwall last year, Sham has definitely been out exploring and making the most of where we live and work. Here are his top ten!
Favourite walk: Lizard Point to Kynance Cove – breathtaking end of the UK with so many coves to explore and amazing sealife and wildlife.
Favourite garden: Not quite West Cornwall, but The Lost Gardens of Heligan – a great mix of agricultural production gardens bringing wildlife, creatively crafted gardens and tall, wild, foliage jungle.
Favourite gallery: Tate St Ives. A slice of Modern & Contemporary art, taking me back to London but with a sea view – Perfect!
Favourite event: Porthleven Food Festival – food, drink, music and fun-loving people, set in the harbour – what more do you need?
Favourite sunset & storm watching spot: Yet to find my favourite spot for both – but having seen the sunset over Mount Bay throughout the year, its pretty spectacular.
Favourite place for a pint / cocktail / glass of wine: 45 Queens Street, Penzance. Rustic, industrial, low lit with tasty Tinkture cocktails and board games – this is how to escape from modern life!
Favourite pub: Growing to love The Ship, Porthleven as it is a favourite amongst friends – but to make a pub my favourite would mean it show’s football…
Favourite restaurant: New Yard Restaurant, Trelowarren Estate – local, homegrown & seasonal produce, put together with talent and passion to create amazing plates.
