Summer 2019 – Walk & Talk Tours of St Michael’s Mount: Throughout the summer, there will be free guided tours of St Michael’s Mount. Let your imagination run wild as one of the talented guides entertains you with fascinating tales of the Mount and gives an intriguing insight into island life.
3rd – 6th July – Penzance Literary Festival: For literary fans, the Penzance Literary Festival is definitely one for the list this summer. Spread over 4 days, the festival will share a wide variety of workshops, talks and events offering creative top tips and the opportunity to mingle.
5th – 20th July – Lafrowda Festival: Held in St. Just in Penwith, Lafrowda Festival explodes in a dizzying display of colour and sound. An annual event taking place across 2 weeks, the festival will showcase the powerful and diverse community arts scene, staging music, comedy, drama, dance and impressive creations.
20th July 2019 – Camborne Show: Whether you are checking out the beautiful vintage cars, saying hello to the adorable Shetland ponies or making your way around the multitude of trade stands for a little souvenir, the Camborne Show has something for everyone.
21st July, 18th August, 1st September – Rock Pool Explorer: Great for youngsters and eager mums and dads, St Michael’s Mount’s Rock Pool Explorer is a fantastic summer event for families. Providing your wee ones with the opportunity to take a step closer to nature, this event reveals the wild and wonderful creatures who live in the sea around the Mount.
21st July – 1st September – Open Air Cinema at Porthminster Beach: An exquisite crescent of golden sand, you couldn’t find a more beautiful backdrop for a movie night. Taking place between late July and the beginning of September, various films will be screened right on the beach at Porthminster. Popcorn, anyone?
29th July – 4th September 2019 – Treasure Island of Summer Activities: If you are looking for child-friendly activities in West Cornwall this summer, look no further. Hosting an excellent variety of events, St Michael’s Mount’s Treasure Island of Summer Activities provides hours of entertainment and creative inspiration for our mini adventurers.
20th August 2019 – The Chestnut Appeal: Whether you are braving the waters or enthusiastically cheering on from the side-lines, the Chestnut Appeal is another one for the tick list this summer in Cornwall. Helping to raise money and awareness for Men’s Health, competitors will take to the water in August to swim a one-and-a-half-mile lap around St Michael’s Mount.
