Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival 16-18 June

Crowned the ‘biggest maritime music festival in Europe’, the International Sea Shanty Festival draws hundreds of performers to Falmouth, with multiple venues throughout the town where you can enjoy the songs of the sea.

Golowan Festival 16-25 June

For over a week in June, Penzance comes alive to celebrate midsummer and the feast of St John. Revived in 1991, the Golowan Festival has maintained a tradition that was practised throughout Cornwall up until the late 19th century. Take part in community workshops, support the election of the mock mayor, and enjoy the Mazey Eve fireworks on the quay, where you may be able to spot Penglaz, the Penzance ’Obby ’Oss. Mazey Day sees artists, schools and other community groups flood the streets of the town with a parade of music and giant handmade sculptures, as well as stalls, live music and street food.

Penzance Literary Festival 5-8 July

With humble beginnings, the Penzance Literary Festival has grown rapidly and celebrates a diverse selection of literary talent. With its roots firmly planted in the community, Cornish writers are well represented throughout the festival and the support of local acts has been of great importance. Due to its popularity the festival has attracted big names, with 2017 seeing the distinctive voices of contemporary British fiction authors Stella Duff, Tim Pear and Cynan Jones joining the event. With readings and spoken-word performances, writing and drama workshops, guided literary tours, open mic nights and the Litfest quiz, there is sure to be an inspired event for everyone.

St Ives Festival 9-23 September

With live music, arts, poetry, guided walks, free exhibitions, workshops, classes and open studios, there is something to interest everyone over this two-week festival taking place throughout the idyllic St Ives.

The Great Cornish Food Festival 22-24 September

Immerse the senses in all things foodie at the annual Great Cornish Food Festival and indulge in all the eclectic produce that Cornwall has to offer. Enjoy cooking demonstrations by local chefs, including our very own Ross Sloan, an outdoor street market, pop-up restaurants, and a variety of food and drink stalls from artisan producers, including bakers, foragers, and gin makers.

Falmouth Oyster Festival 12-15 October

Celebrating the unique oyster fishery season through food and drink, local chefs, oyster fishermen, music, and Falmouth's fishing history.

Porthleven Food Festival

One of the first foodie festivals of the year is held in the quaint harbour town of Porthleven and offers food stalls, street food, music and entertainment. Browse the large array of Cornish products, from wine and chocolate to charcuterie and preserves. Sample delicious dishes from the selection of street-food vendors while enjoying live music from local bands. Or if you fancy a few pointers from some of the finest chefs from Cornwall and beyond, the Chef’s Theatre provides cooking demonstrations showcasing their skills.
