Cornwall Film festival, Falmouth
Now in its 17th year, the Festival caters for connoisseurs and casual viewers alike, with a programme curated to reflect the theme of ‘RESISTANCE’ that includes features and shorts; dramas, documentaries and off-the-wall comedies; international and UK cinema; award winners from Cannes and showcases of new work from the big-name filmmakers of tomorrow.
St Ives Sea Shanty Shout Weekend
Now in its third year, the event, hosted by St Ives group, Bamaluz Bootleggers, with sponsorship from local businesses, the 2018 shout will feature more than 20 groups (including the legendary Kimbers Men travelling down from Yorkshire) singing at multiple venues in the town.
Godolphin Arms Cornish Christmas Market
Looking for the perfect present? Why not visit the Godolphin Arms on Thursday 29th November between 2PM-8PM for their Cornish Christmas market. There will be an array of gifts by local makers, artists and creators - we hope to see you there!
St Ives Winter Festival
Enjoy free entry to Tate St Ives along with special talks, family-friendly activities and more. At the heart of the festival are many local choirs and performers including St Ives Combined Chapels Choir, Cornwall Youth Chamber Choir and Cornwall Music Service Trust Combined Primary School Choir amongst others.
Padstow Christmas Festival
An array of seasonal treats including lights and decorations, Santa's grotto, fireworks, food, festive demonstrations and late night shopping plus a traditional Christmas market in a large marquee on the quayside with stalls laden with Cornish goodies and gifts. You'll also spot a familiar face from the Mount Haven, as Ross Sloan will be doing a food demonstration this year.
Mousehole Christmas Lights
December - January
See the harbour village of Mousehole come alight with the twinkling lights of Christmas. With floating displays of lights in the harbour and around the streets that are filled with the aroma of mulled wine and festive food. You’ll see a fantastic display of sea serpents, fishing boats and whales colourfully lighting up one of Cornwall’s most welcoming harbours.
West Cornwall Spring Show, Marazion
Taking place at the beginning of March, this is the earliest and first flower show in the country, showcasing horticultural excellence within Penwith.
Falmouth Spring Festival
March – April
This wonderful early season festival brings together the Falmouth community like no other. The festival brings an explosion of colour, life and activity to the town.
Porthleven Food & Music Festival
Expect all day cooking demos, food and craft stalls surrounding the harbour, music, dancing, performances, music, art and cooking workshops.
Open Studios Cornwall
Artists, craftsmen and designers around the county will be opening their studios and workshops to the public. An opportunity to meet the creators behind truly distinct finds including sculpture, glasswork, ceramics, painting and textiles.
Royal Cornwall Show
For three days each year, the dedicated showground at Wadebridge is transformed into a living town, bustling with life, energy, agriculture, entertainment and trade. It is a significant event on the Cornish calendar with around 130,000 people attending.
Golowan Festival & Mazey Day
The festival brings the past and present together in a community celebration of the traditional midsummer Feast of St John. The festival has a packed programme of artists in celebration of music, performing arts and theatre, culminating in Mazey Day, with parades through the streets and a host of street entertainment.
