Front of House Operations Manager

Are you ready for the next step in your career? We are looking for the right candidate to influence and drive the Mount Haven on its exciting journey. We want to draw on your hospitality experience and, together with the General Manager, work towards the St Aubyn Estates vision to be a force for growth in West Cornwall.

The Mount Haven is a boutique hotel and restaurant on the outskirts of Marazion. It has stunning views of St Michael’s Mount and Mount’s Bay from most of the bedrooms, as well as from the Terrace Bar. St Aubyn Estates acquired the hotel in 2016 and has invested heavily in a 3-stage development and refurbishment plan. The hotel is gradually building a reputation for providing an amazing guest experience and delivering inspirational food from a talented kitchen team led by Head Chef, Ross Sloan. In 2018 we featured in the Times Top 100 UK Hotels, The Times Cool Hotel Guide and in The Telegraph Best Seaside Hotels. The hotel is due to close in January 2019 for an extensive restaurant refurbishment and extension of the Terrace Bar, and is due to re-open its doors in April 2019.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and hotel, and will be pivotal in working with the General Manager to build and reinforce the Mount Haven brand moving forward. You will act on behalf of the General Manager in her absence and be confident line managing the Front of House team and delivering an exceptional guest journey.

The right candidate will:

  • Have a passion for delivering a quality and memorable guest experience.
  • Have a background in restaurant operations and be aware of current trends and standards within the industry.
  • Have previous operational experience working within a boutique hotel environment at Management or Senior Supervisory level.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Have experience in line managing a successful high performing team.
  • Be dedicated and have a passion for attention to detail and thoroughness.
